My child has been diagnosed with cancer. How can we become involved with the Foundation?
The Michael Hoefflin Foundation is here for you. Please contact our offices at your earliest convenience and one of the lovely ladies in our outreach office will assist you with becoming a Foundation Family. Please remember that there are never any fees for any of our services.
My child just turned 18 and has cancer. Can you help him?
Absolutely! The Michael Hoefflin Foundation serves children from birth right up until their 21st birthday. After that time, while your child will no longer be eligible for financial assistance, you are still welcome to attend all the family events and support group meetings.

Who do you help?
The Michael Hoefflin Foundation services are available to all families in the Santa Clarita Valley, Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, Simi Valley and Conejo Valley who have a child under the age of 21 who has ever been diagnosed with pediatric cancer, whether or not he or she is currently in treatment.
I know someone whose child has been diagnosed with cancer. How can we let them know about the Foundation?
One of the goals of the Michael Hoefflin Foundation is to reach out to all families within our area. If you know of a child who has been diagnosed with cancer, please tell his or her parents about our organization. We are unable to contact a family without their consent.

Can you give me medical advice?
The Michael Hoefflin Foundation is a support service for families dealing with the cancer of a child. We regret that we cannot dispense medical advice. Please contact your oncologist or a medical professional if you have any questions concerning treatment options.
How can I become involved as a volunteer for the Foundation?
The Michael Hoefflin Foundation is always looking for great volunteers to join our team! We welcome all ages and types of volunteers, though due to the nature of our organization, most of our needs are appropriate for high school aged children and above. If you would like to volunteer, simply submit our Volunteer Inquiry form and our volunteer coordinator will contact you shortly.
How old do I have to be to volunteer?
The Michael Hoefflin Foundation welcomes volunteers of all ages! However, due to the nature of our organization, we usually have needs best filled by high school-aged volunteers and older. Fill out our Volunteer Inquiry form and our volunteer coordinator will contact you regarding upcoming volunteer opportunities.
How can I make a donation to the Foundation?
The Michael Hoefflin Foundation accepts donations of money, goods, and services year round. To make a monetary donation, you can visit our online donation page, or mail us a check payable to the “Michael Hoefflin Foundation.” You can either specify how you would like the money to be applied (eg. To purchase gas and grocery cards for monthly support) or please allow the Foundation to determine the area where your donation might be best applied.
To donate items for our auction, simply fill out an item donation form (keeping a copy for your own tax records) and return the form and item to our office. We regret that we can only accept new and unused items to be sold at auction.
The Foundation also has a wish list of items needed in our office to help keep our operating costs as low as possible.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, your donations are tax deductible. The Michael Hoefflin Foundation is a public non-profit 501 (c)(3) charity, Federal Tax ID number 95-4565741. Please keep a record of all donations to the Foundation for tax purposes.

How does my donation help families?
Your donation helps the families of the Michael Hoefflin Foundation in many ways. Funds raised by the Foundation help us to provide direct, practical support to our families. We offer monthly gas and grocery cards to offset their expenses, counseling support and family outings to give them an opportunity to connect with one another. We also support viable research in the hopes of one day finding a cure for all forms of pediatric cancer.
How can I/my business become a Foundation sponsor?
It's easy! Foundation sponosorships are available at several levels throughout the year. Contact our office for more details!
When was the Michael Hoefflin Foundation established?
The Foundation was originally started in 1994 as a chapter of the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund, based out of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. The MHF became Federally recognized as an independent public non-profit organization in 1995 and continues to function in that capacity currently.
